How we help a pet.

For our donors and supporters, we would like to share with you: How we help a pet.

There is a lot of talk about who has possession of a rescued pet. As a foster based rescue we often have to think outside of the box. Our main focus, whenever we are asked to help, is getting the pet the help they need.

An example of this is; we receive a call from a finder of a dog that showed up on his front porch, very cold and starving. Being we are foster based, there are times we can't go pick up the dog right away, there is no doubt we will help this dog though.

Our first question to the finder is can you continue to take care of the dog while we find a foster or maybe even his family? I would guess that 80% of the time the finder says yes and that is the beginning of our team building with the finder. In the case of this dog, a loving family (finders family) is going to Foster and we are going to pay for his vetting needs and work on finding him his forever home. By keeping the found dog safe the finders help, helps us.

Another example would be we received a picture of a horribly injured dog. We have helped this caller with dogs on several occasions. Again, we ask the person to care for the dog until we get him to the vet the following day. In this case the finder can not help. The plan? If we could not find help right away, another one of our teammates will care for the dog until a foster or home is selected. We will do what we have to, to provide a pet the help they need. We also believe in teamwork, we don't say no when asked for help but sometimes we do ask for help from other rescues. What we all want is to ensure the pet gets the care they need. It truly doesn't matter who does the caring. It just matters that we work together to help a pet in need.

This is just a small example of how we utilize your support and donations to help these precious souls. We will continue to share with you our programs and policies. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you so much for donating, sending prayers and spreading the word!
