Working Cats Program
Got Rodents?
Consider adopting a working cat! The goal of this program is to eliminate the need to euthanize feral cats. A program that will place outdoor cats where they can provide rodent control services in exchange for basic care.
Guidelines:
-
Working cats will be vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
-
Caregivers must provide food, water, and shelter from the elements.
-
Cats must be secured confined to their new location for 3 weeks prior to their release.
Where can working cats be utilized? -
Barns/ farms, warehouses, storage facilities, business, your home.
Why participate in the Working Cat Program:
-
Because it's humane, the smell of cats repels rats from staying or coming.
-
Traditional methods of repelling rats and mice cause the animals to die a painful death.
-
It prevents the death of thousands of cats who are deemed "Unadoptable" This program provides a useful place in society for feral cats.
-
It has been found that traditional extermination methods, spraying, and poisoning not only make humans sick, but it also does not solve the problem.
