Second Chance of Orangeburg Animal Rescue Coalition
Guidelines for Adoptions
The Adoption Fee is $200. We require an application to be filled, a home visit, and a fenced yard.
Now, not only does adopting a rescue give them another chance at a better life, but it also means you get a new best friend with lots of love to give! Now that is priceless!
Why is the adoption fee $200, you ask? Well, here is a breakdown of why.
All dogs and cats in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, tested for heartworms, and either treated for or put on heartworm preventatives, the fee covers this.
The actual cost of a rescue dog can go anywhere from $600 to $900 dollars, sometimes more. Reason? Because kenneling, transport, dental, grooming, bedding, feeding, individual medical care, neutering or spaying, vaccinations, heartworm treatments or preventatives, microchipping and so much more, all come into play.
We are a Foster base Rescue, and at the moment, we do not have a Brick-and-Mortar Location.
At this moment we do not have a set location. We are a foster Base rescue. All pets in our care are Fostered by Volunteers in their own homes. To Visit a pet, the volunteer either gives you permission to come to their home, go to your home, or find common ground place to meet, the latter is great for one on one introductions to current pets in your home. Sometimes going to your home, especially if you have multiple pets, would be a good idea too. We want to ensure the safety of everyone involve.
