Second Chance of Orangeburg Animal Rescue Coalition
We are a volunteer and foster-based rescue that believes every pet deserves a loving home.
About Us
Second Chance of Orangeburg Animal Rescue Coalition was founded on May 31, 2013, by Cindy B Smith, with a dream of a brick-and-mortar sanctuary that will provide transitional housing for homeless pets until their forever family is found.
We believe the lives of homeless pets matter and we are working to build a coalition of animal rescues to provide the best possible home for the animals in our care while working directly with the Orangeburg County Animal Control.
We are a 501 C 3 No-Kill rescue! As a 501 C 3 non-profit, all donations are tax-deductible. 100% of all donations are used for the care and well-being of the homeless pets in our care. Currently, we are a foster-based rescue, ran by volunteers. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering of homeless pets, that no treatable or healthy animal should die just because they are homeless, and work with others to become a no-kill County, State, and Nation.
Some of our programs include:
-
A pet food pantry
-
Unchain Orangeburg: where we provide fencing and dog houses to unchain a pet
-
we participate in the working cat program providing an alternative life for a feral cat
-
We fight animal abuse, neglect, and cruelty with our Somebody Somewhere knows Something campaign
-
Spay and Neuter Financial Assistance Program
